Typical MLM reviews look at a particular network marketing program and give an evaluation of that company or business opportunity.

This MLM review takes a different approach and looks at essential aspects for reviewing ANY MLM program.

MLM Review – 10 Commandments For Choosing a Network Marketing Program

1.  MLM Company

The company should present a solid foundation, either as a result of the time it’s been in business or by the executive team and investors that represent the company.  An established company has a history in its favor which may be an indication that they are doing something right.  Today many companies launch but aren’t around for long before disappearing.  My only exception to this rule is based on the company’s executive team members, which is discussed in point 4.

Furthermore the company’s values should align to yours, giving you the utmost confidence and conviction when promoting your business.

2.  Products and Services

It’s essential that the products or services of the network marketing program are self-reliant i.e. they can be sold to consumers based on their benefits and not only sold to those involved in the business opportunity.  Ask yourself this question when evaluating the products of a MLM program, “Would I buy these products at their price if I was not involved in the business opportunity?”  Be guided by your answer.

Be cautious when getting involved in a MLM program where the only people buying the products are those involved in the business opportunity.

The next step is to have an interest in the industry that the products represent.  Success comes from authentically sharing your passion for your business.  You can’t achieve this if you aren’t honestly excited about the products yourself.

3.  Marketplace

The network marketing program should participate in a mass market where continuous growth is evident and there’s little possibility of saturation.  Even better, it should be a consumable product or service which customers and distributors will always need.

Having access to market your business internationally is vital to opening doors to further markets, so it’s important to ensure this is possible with the MLM program you are researching.

4.  Timing

Most MLM reviews suggest joining a company that has been in business for a long time and to stay away from new companies.  I beg to differ.  Timing in any business is everything – from launching new products, to starting a business, to expanding etc.  Becoming involved in a reputable network marketing program within their first 18 months to 2 years can position you for significant rewards.

As mentioned in point 1, the caveat to this statement is that the executives of the new company must be of significant stature and have a reputation for success and delivering upon promises.  If this is not the case, then I agree, only join a well established network marketing program.

5.  Leadership

This is the most critical element of any MLM review.  If you find a leader that you resonate with and believe will be a catalyst to your success, you should consider joining them as long as their business opportunity represents an interest of yours.  E.g. If you enjoy candles, most MLM programs in this industry will offer similar products and compensation plans, therefore your decision on which company you join should be dictated by the MLM leader you connect best with rather than the product.

In addition a worthy leader differentiates themself by having a marketing system and tools that they plug you into to speed up your learning curve, assisting you in achieving results sooner.  This alone is worth gold!

6.  Community

Consider the type of people that are attracted to the company and whether you are able to relate to them.  Before joining a company try to get in contact with existing members to get a sense of what the community culture is all about.  After all not only will you become active in this community and draw on them for support and inspiration, but you will also be introducing like minded people to the business opportunity.

You can achieve this by attending webinars or business presentations hosted by the company and personally speaking to the sponsor you are considering joining and get a sense of the connection you have.  You can also request a 3-way conference call with another member of the community to ask some questions of them and gauge their friendliness too.

7.  Training and Resources

As with any business opportunity, the training provided to assist you in succeeding in your business is vital.  It’s in your best interests to be fully informed as to what training is provided by the company as well as by your sponsor.  In addition understand what resources and tools you are able to leverage to further escalate your success.  These tools may be provided by the company or by the leader you join as a differentiator for their team.

8.  Compensation Plan

Most compensation plans in the industry are based on the matrix system where you earn a commission for your personal distributors as well as a percentage on their referrals for a certain number of levels.  Some network marketing programs differentiate themselves by a range of bonuses that encourage their leaders to grow and support their team as well as promote longevity to remain with the company.  Other differentiators include company trips or prizes for top performers.

The key thing to consider when deciding on a network marketing program is whether the compensation plan is designed in favor of the distributors (a good target is to look for companies that pay out 60% plus of revenue) and whether the income potential will meet your requirements.

9.  Reputation

If you are seeking a business opportunity for long term results, you definitely should partner with a company that has a good reputation and is backed by reputable executives or investors.  Always keep in mind, whilst you are an independent marketer for that company, you will be “tainted” by their public reputation as well.

If you follow the strategy of joining a successful leader, you can almost be guaranteed that you are joining a reputable MLM program.

10.  Operational Costs

Before signing on the proverbial dotted line, get a full explanation of the total monthly fixed costs of running your business.  This varies across network marketing programs as some companies include the use of replicated websites, conference or webinar facilities and business systems in your subscription, whilst others charge.  Some companies have proprietary marketing systems that they charge for as well.

Depending on the industry, you may also be required to agree to a minimum monthly product order (autoship) to remain active.

It’s always best to know in advance what you are in for so you know what to expect and can plan accordingly.

If you follow the advice of these 10 MLM review commandments you can be sure you have covered the main aspects of assessing a MLM program and feel confident with your decision.  Don’t feel rushed to make a decision – after all it’s your future on the line.

The key to success in any MLM program is to have a marketing strategy and MLM system that sets you apart from your competitors and allows you to sponsor a consistent flow of distributors into your network marketing business opportunity EVERY month.  Complete the form on the right and learn how you can implement the secrets of MLM leaders and start earning a 6-figure income in your network marketing business.
